Formula E Light Cycle

Due to the new EU regs last year, all electric cars need to be "heard" - a good thing when you think about it...So it got me to thinking.

How will the sounds that the Formula E cars make compare? I mean, it's bound to be a lot different to how Formula 1 cars sound, however, maybe the difference is a good one? The 2015/16 championship is already evolving compared to last season, including the addition of 8 different Formula E car sounds.

I have friends who can identify a car just by the sound of the engine, so will this become a similar game to play in the future of Formula E? I decided to do a little research, and this is what I found:

This is a YouTube video of the pre-season test day of the Formula E cars at Donington last year, and my first thought was that these cars sound like light cycles from the awesome film Tron! This was fantastic, and not just because I am a serious sci-fi geek - these cars sound futuristic, and this is soo exciting. It makes you wonder what lies ahead in the world of cars, and the evolution of the sport. Although I didn't get to experience this first hand, I enjoyed the YouTube clip, which is why I've posted it here for you all to enjoy. I think I need to watch Tron again now...
