Once again, London is centre stage for yet another car event - this time on the Royal Honourable Artillery HQ Lawn, very close to the Barbican.

The brand-new City Concours merges classic, modern and racing cars in the heart of London, offering a fusion of automotive excellence, including modern bespoke models to a confirmed attendance of one of the most original Jaguar D-Types, which finished second at Le Mans in 1957.

If classic racing isn't your cup of tea, you will find a category offering the evolution of the supercar - which is quite self explanatory, albeit no less thrilling. This brand-new show will bring the most incredible vehicles to the very heart of the City of London, which is shaping up to be a truly historic event.

Final categories have now been confirmed and the first cars attending have now been named, which include one of seven touring super leggera Disco Volante Spyders. Attendees will be able to see vehicles from the swinging 60's, speed legends of Le Mans, revolution of the supercar, American muscle, alternative power, modern bespoke, and the F1 Hall of Fame.

One of the highlights is surely to be the Jaguar D-Type, the RSF 303; incredibly this car has never been fully restored, which is quite something - it remains one of the most successful and original models in existence.

To think this car finished second in the legendary Jaguar 1-2-3-4-6 finish at the LeMonds 24-hour race in 1957 is quite something.

Staggeringly, the car still features the same engine block fitted by the curator Ecurie Ecosse in 1959, and the car still wears all the interior battle scars from that amazing race. With the car still sporting the livery of the curator, it retains the essence of the Scottish racing team, famed for piloting the D-Type to victory.

The modern bespoke category is one to watch out for, as this focusses on modern day, low volume coachbuilt cars, featuring such style reflections as the Alfa Romeo Disco Volante. Such vehicles, coming as custom built bodies from Italian coach builders Touring Super Leggera, hand made by a select group of expert craftsmen, which takes (from start to finish) around 10,000 hours to construct.

Each car featured in the City Concours is hand picked by the steering committee, comprising of automotive experts from the events partners; Evo and Octane. Expect to see the very best of the British Automotive Industry, featuring over 80 sports cars and super cars for sale.

This superlative car event will also feature an exquisite blend of wares from luxury partners; Breguet High-End Watch Makers, and  Tattinger, who will be hosting a Champagne bar.

The Director of the City Concours - Andrew Evans - said "We've got some of the world's most knowledgeable experts sourcing incredible cars for the City Concours, and I think that really shows here. The D-Type and Disco Volante are a perfect representation of the event; rare, beautiful, and each with a story behind them. We'll be confirming more cars and partners over the next few weeks, but it's clear already that this will be one of the most incredible gatherings of cars and luxury brands that the City of London has ever seen."

Tickets and hospitality packages are on sale now, from www.cityconcours.co.uk. A select number of the Planet Auto Team will be attending this event, and are looking forward to meeting you there.
