Last week I attended the official launch of the limited edition Omologato James Hunt Chronograph, at Influence Associates HQ in Soho, where I met Freddie Hunt, James son and the designer and founder of Omologato, the horological company tasked with creating the motorsport timepiece.

A collaboration that began with a friendship between James Hunts son Freddie, and Omologato founder Shami Kalra and evolved into the creation of beatiful timepiece incorporating a motoring legacy. With the blessing of the Hunt Family,

Freddie and Chami worked together for several months on a design that captures the heart and the spirit of James Hunt motoring career.

The timepiece celebrates the motoring legend and Formula 1 world champion James Hunt, a watch limited to 750 of each design which retails for £599.00.

James was born in 1947, a racing driver of the highest order, compounded by his win of the 1976 World Championship winning season whilst going head to head with Niki Lauda, one of the most famous rivalry examples ever.

The James Chronograph comes in a choice of either nylon / leather bonded bracelet or leather strap, each model features a dial in matt black, the signature of James Hunt with the iconic Red, Blue and Yellow stripes on the face, the colours symbolised on the racing drivers helmet, a nod to the school where James attended Wellington School.
