The Lamborghini Urus concept has been on the cards since the Beijing Autoshow in 2012. However today, it was spotted being tested on public roads for the first time.

These latest Urus spy shots reveal quite a bit about the upcoming 2018 Lamborghini SUV.

The Lambo Test Mule was heavly disguised, however you coud tell the style had stuck very closely to the version unveiled at the Beijing Motorshow. The Urus is the first SUV for the Italian manufacturer since the LM002 in 1986 - made famous by LL Cool J driving one in the movie Toys, with the late Robin Williams.

The Sport Utility Vehicle uses the same platform as the 2018 Porsche Cayenne, Audi Q7, and the Bentley Bentayga.

The Urus spy shots clearly show an angular, rather sharp design for the exterior, and rumours suggest that the interior will be very luxurious and is comfort inspired.

We have no idea which engine was powering the Lamborghini SUV, however we do know that the brand will be releasing their first plug-in hybrid unit, with the option of a four litre, V8, twin turbo petrol engine, rather than the Eventador or Hurricane V12, and V10 engines in the pursuit of low-end torque, and better fuel economy.

The main competitors of the Urus are likely to be The Cullinan by Rolls Royce, The Landaulet G650 by Mercedes Maybach, and the AMG powered G Class convertible.

You can expect to pick one up for around £180,000.00
