Well it's January 2016 which means CES2016 - the consumer electronics show - This year has certainly featured cars, but to what capacity?

Well already we have seen some pretty big car related announced to start there was Qualcomm and Audi with the Snapdragon chipset powered infotainment, now follows a whole host of auto manufacturers collaborations.

Ford

First we have Ford has the biggest autonomous vehicle fleet in the world, as well as improving it's LiDar, making it's cars and other vehicles the most advanced in the world.

There is also the annoucement with a collaboration with Phantom drones and Ford, you will be able to launch, control and land a drone with touchscreen from a truck without leaving it, pretty damn cool. This makes it perfect and potentially life saving for relief crisises, as well as construction etc.

Finally the lat Ford colab is with Amazon Echo, alexa voice integration this will allow a driver etc to control various aspects of there home e.g. Open garage doors, turn lights on, regulate devices etc.

Volvo

Now we move onto Volvo and their partnership with Microsoft to put vehicle control into its band 2 wearables allowing you to turn on heat, unlock the car, lights etc.

Microsoft

One of the biggest auto announcement is Harmann is bringing Microsft office to your car, if the mood takes you will now be able to create a PowerPoint, excel spreadsheet or something equally as cool whilst in your car, now the Yahoo tech guys didn't seem to enamerred with this idea, we however think it has multiple applications.

Faraday

The annoucement of the Faraday Sixth Sense concept car may have not been to everyone's taste, however the car itself looks quite genius. An EV with a 1000bhp motor. Full story on the Faraday in the next few days.

Well it's day two of the CES2016 and the announcements have been crazy.

VW

Volkswagen, have made a real impact at CES with possibly avehicle that restore the faith in VAG and possibly help them with their diesel scandal, the vehicle to save the day is the BUDD-e, a zero emissions offering with a completely new MEB electric car platform. This EV is the first MPV by VW which is completely electric, it echoes retro campers, Westfalia, Devon, Bay, splitty etc. The modern camper has a 223 mile range and 302bhp. A full story coming soon, this has really peaked our interest, like pretty much all ev models released.

Aston Martin

A car manufacturer pushing luxury and all out power for years, and now looking at the future and ev market, For the first time in many years Aston are creating a new powertrain, platform, design language and who knows what else, they've also showed how their next gen of British cars will incorporate infotainment.

Their partnership with Letv has meant the latest car the Aston Martin Rapide S is kitted out with lots of tech, 13.3 in HD touchscreen in the console as well as a 12.2in screen in the dash cluster.

Lots of cool things at CES 2016, over the next days we will delve deeper, till then enjoy the rest of the show.
